With a passion for the arts and a love of classical movies, she looks forward to the artistic growth and community engagement the theatre will bring to her hometown. Alongside the arts, Tatijuana is passionate about spending time with her partner, Jake, their dog, Czar, and their kitten, Anakin (named after Mr. Skywalker himself). When she’s not enjoying her passions, you can find her with her nose in a book, a game controller in her hand or singing loudly to her favorite karaoke songs.

  • Favorite Film: It’s a tie between Giant and Crazy Rich Asians
  • Favorite Live Performance: Lady Gaga’s 2009 The Fame Ball tour. I was in ninth grade at the time, and it changed my life in ways I couldn’t imagine. The love, support and understanding she showed her fans while people were outside protesting and making hateful comments gave me the strength to be unapologetically me, and that’s an invaluable tool for a freshman in high school to have.
  • Favorite Community Engagement: Sheryl Kluge started 1CAN to help those in need within our own community. She’s helping the community one can at a time.
  • Favorite Speaker: Theodore Britton – one of the original Montford Point Marines. Hearing him speak makes me want to remember the power I hold not only when I need to rely on it but at any point of time.

Robert Touchstone | CFRE | Development director

Robert's not a Charlotte native, but he’s lived here longer than anywhere else. He's passionate about supporting local creatives, enriching student learning experiences and building inclusive spaces. Outside of his day job, Robert's a huge Alabama football fan (Roll Tide!), loves craft cocktails and digging in his yard. He lives in North End with his husband, Matt, and their two sweet pups, Tucker and Lily.

Favorite film: Silence of the Lambs
Favorite live performance: Lady Gaga performing in a small venue (fewer than 200 people kind of small) in Atlanta before she became famous and The Pillowman produced by Actor’s Theatre of Charlotte

Brandon Kincaid | Technical director

More information about Brandon coming soon!

Douglas Young | Programming director

Originally a native of the southern part of the Carolinas, Douglas first moved to the Old North State in 1993. After marrying Gillian Albinski on the stage of Greensboro’s Carolina Theatre in 1996, the couple moved to Charlotte’s east side, where they continue to live and have four "purr-fect" kitties (Pyewacket, Cappuccino, Java and Bean). Inspired by the musical stylings of Talking Heads, warped by the humor of Monty Python and a student of all things pop culture, Douglas has split his entertainment career between live events and film production, so he has a lot of bizarre stories involving famous names that he may one day share in a memoir or simply over a drink. The third in a line of people with the same name, this Douglas George Young prefer “Douglas” over “Doug” because the origin story for the name comes from his grandfather being born in the small town of Douglas, Ga. And that's how Indiana Jones got the dog’s name.

Favorite film(s): Stop Making Sense (because it’s the greatest concert film) or The Shawshank Redemption (because hope is a good thing) or It’s A Wonderful Life (because no man is a failure who has friends) or The Rocky Horror Picture Show (because time is fleeting) or Field of Dreams (because if you build it, they will come).

Favorite community events: Working at Mecklenburg County’s precinct 62 on election days (#ForTheDemocracy) and cheering on Charlotte FC at home matches (#ForTheCrown).

Favorite live performance: Audra McDonald and Hugh Jackman starring in a one-night only benefit performance of Carousel at Carnegie Hall in 2002.

Favorite speaker: Former North Carolina resident David Sedaris, who once signed a book for me with the inscription “Thanks for making me rich.”
